Shannon L.W.Clark Leitenbauer,O.D., F.A.A.O.
Education
Dr. Clark Leitenbauer graduated from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Residency Training
Dr. Clark Leitenbauer completed her residency in hospital based primary eye care/ocular disease at the Brockton/West Roxbury Veteran's Hospitals in Boston, Massachusetts.
Work Experience
Dr. Clark Leitenbauer has been in private practice since 1998. She is a Certified Optometric Physician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She currently resides in Ft. Pierce with her husband, Mr. Jony Leitenbauer and their two children.
Faculty Positions
Dr. Clark Leitenbauer has served in several faculty positions. She most recently served as Adjunct Faculty of Biology and Anatomy/Physiology at Indian River Community College. She has also served as Adjunct Faculty for New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA and as Adjunct Lecturer for Massachusett's General Hospital's Nursing Program.
Community Involvement
Supporting the Ft. Pierce community is very important to Dr. Leitenbauer. Since 1998, she has been a member of the Ft. Pierce Chamber of Commerce and the Ft. Pierce Downtown Kiwanis Club where she served a term as President. From 2003-2005, she served on the board of Directors of the Treasure Coast Food Bank. She also supports The St. Lucie County Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.
Dr. Jacobi
Dr. Jacobi attended Stetson University in Deland, Florida obtaining a bachelors degree in Biology. She was a member of the Beta Beta Beta biology honor society , was the academic of chairman of the Delta Delta Delta sorority for two years and played tennis during her Sophomore year. She graduated in May of 2007 from the Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with a Doctor of Optometry and a bachelors degree in Vision Science.
In 2007, she joined C.R. Lait Optical and Dr. Clark Leitenbauer. She enjoys Ft. Pierce and plans on spending many years working with the Ft. Pierce community and Dr. Clark Leitenbauer.
